Art from the sky

This week I had a big success and a few hours later, a big disappointment.

I’ve been asked to organize a sort of installation which will represent our fight against the construction of an airport on a natural park nearby.

The idea (not mine) was to gather a few hundred people and to create a picture (the logo of our fight) visible only from the sky.

I accepted because I was interested in the cause and in the process.

I’ve never done something like that, so the first step was to find out how to do it.

Fortunately, I discovered the site of Daniel Dancer, who has a lot of experience. He is making huge pictures, sometimes with more than thousand people. all over the world.

He even responded my emails and gave me some tips. Thank you so much Daniel!

On Sunday, we planned to prepare the outlines of the picture. On Monday, all the children of the school were supposed to come and be a part of the picture, and of the fight for the protection of this beautiful peace of nature.

On Sunday, we did our part. After several hours of hard work on the ground, it was exhilarating to see a picture taken from a small drone, and to have the confirmation that we succeeded in our mission.

Halas! Because of a “detail”, a small problem in organisation, the school couldn’t come to complete the picture. Such a disappointment…

We have hope it will happen sooner or later. I’ll let you know!
